DESCRIPTION:Valère Fourel\, Economist in the Macro-Prudential Policy Divis
 ion at Banque de France\, will deliver a conference on financial stability\
 , on December 10 from 10am to 12pm. He will present the key risks that the 
 Haut Conseil de Stabilité Financière (HCSF)\, the French macroprudential 
 authority\, closely monitors and the role that\, thanks to its numerous ins
 truments\, macroprudential policy can play in preventing the build-up of fi
 nancial vulnerabilities and imbalances while limiting the effects of advers
 e financial shocks when they materialize. He will go through some of the an
 alytical tools used at the Banque de France to guide macroprudential decisi
 ons adopted every quarter by the HCSF.Valère Fourel is a research economis
 t within the Financial Stability Directorate at Banque de France. Before jo
 ining the Macroprudential Policy Division\, he worked in the Monetary Polic
 y Division also at Banque de France. He holds a PhD in Financial Economics
