Abstract
We explore the behavioral drivers of individual decision-making under uncer- tainty. We propose a framework for characterizing uncertain situations based on both their degrees of ambiguity and complexity. We then derive testable predic- tions, which we confront to three di↵erent experimental datasets to demonstrate that both attitudes towards ambiguity and complexity significantly shape individ- uals’ uncertainty preferences.
