Résumé

Valère Fourel, Economist in the Macro-Prudential Policy Division at Banque de France, will deliver a conference on financial stability, on December 10 from 10am to 12pm. He will present the key risks that the Haut Conseil de Stabilité Financière (HCSF), the French macroprudential authority, closely monitors and the role that, thanks to its numerous instruments, macroprudential policy can play in preventing the build-up of financial vulnerabilities and imbalances while limiting the effects of adverse financial shocks when they materialize. He will go through some of the analytical tools used at the Banque de France to guide macroprudential decisions adopted every quarter by the HCSF.

Valère Fourel is a research economist within the Financial Stability Directorate at Banque de France. Before joining the Macroprudential Policy Division, he worked in the Monetary Policy Division also at Banque de France. He holds a PhD in Financial Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
