We design an online platform to connect unemployed job seekers with `buddies'--former job seekers who recently found employment. We focus on job seekers who search in occupations with poor prospects and buddies who successfully switched occupation. The platform allows job seekers and buddies to connect and chat. In a randomized controlled trial, we evaluate the impact of access to the platform on labor market outcomes. We find sizable effects. Twelve to 18 months after getting access to the platform, initially unemployed job seekers in the treatment group had a 6 percentage points (11\%) higher chance of being employed than those in the control group. Cumulative over the 18-month period the treatment group earned 2185 EUR (11\%) more. The positive impact is concentrated among the long-term unemployed.
